Euan Frizzell was a Wellington animator and director. He died in 2012. The bursary was established by the New Zealand Games, Animation and Visual Effects Trust (NZ GAV Trust).

Eligibility criteria

Applicants will be enrolled full time, entering the fourth year of a Bachelor of Design or Bachelor of Design (Hons). You will be undertaking a project with a focus on animation.

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • a 500-word proposal for the animation project, in the analogue or digital medium, you will undertake in your fourth year of study. This should have links to your online portfolio.
  • a brief statement of personal financial circumstances outlining how this award would help you.

Selection considerations

Selection will be based on a demonstrated ability in animation at an appropriate level. Your proposed project and financial need will also be taken into consideration.
