This scholarship is supported by funds accumulated under the Gansu Grassland Ecological Research Institute (China) component of the Trade for Training Scheme. The scholarship was set up by Associate Professor Alex Chu in recognition of the contribution made by Professor Ren Jizhou, foundation director of the institute, in promoting the Trade for Training Scheme in China. Professor Ren is also the leading advocate of pastoral farming in China.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a Chinese student studying agriculture or horticulture at undergraduate or postgraduate level. We're also looking for a New Zealand citizen based in the College of Sciences who is interested in visiting China to engage in work of value to New Zealand agriculture or horticulture.
What you'll be studying
This is an undergraduate or postgraduate scholarship. You will be studying agriculture or horticulture.
Eligibility criteria
You must:
- be studying a specific subject
- be either a New Zealand citizen or a Chinese student
Application checklist
Include the following with your application:
- your academic transcripts for any tertiary study completed outside of Massey University
- a statement on how receiving this scholarship would be of benefit to you and your study, and how you believe you meet the intentions of this award
- a copy of your Massey University transcripts/current enrolment. You can download your Study History Report from the Student Portal, under ‘Results and Exams’.
