The Sir James Wattie Scholarship for Food Technology is funded by Kraft Heinz, the founder of the food processing company Wattie’s, to support Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours students.

We're looking for a candidate with a passion for food technology.

What you'll be studying

This is an undergraduate scholarship. You will be entering your first year (i.e. 100 level) of a Bachelor of Food Technology (Hons) in the year following the award of the scholarship.

Eligibility criteria

You must be:

  • entering the first year of your qualification
  • studying a specific subject
  • a New Zealand citizen
  • studying full time

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • a budget outlining your annual expenses and any predicted earnings, including any awards and scholarships held to date.
  • a supporting statement outlining why you want to study food technology and your career prospects. This should be no more than 500 words
  • a copy of your high school results .
  • a statement from the Year 13 Dean or Principal confirming that they believe you are clearly capable of achieving University Entrance at the end of this year (if applicable).
