Taranaki Veterinary Centre – Supporting Excellence in Animal Health
Taranaki Veterinary Centre is proud to serve the Taranaki region with a dedicated team of professionals committed to the highest standards of animal health and welfare. Our work spans both large production animals and companion pets, and we strongly value the development of veterinary expertise through ongoing learning and professional growth—values that align closely with the spirit of this scholarship.
Large Animal Services and Community Support
We employ a team of 20 experienced Large Animal Veterinarians who bring a wide range of knowledge and practical skills to local farming operations. Our vets are supported by a skilled team of Technicians, providing essential on-farm services such as teat-seal and dry-cow therapy insertion, and calf disbudding.
Taranaki Vet Centre also offers comprehensive veterinary services for companion animals, with clinics in Hawera, Stratford, and Patea. Our friendly and professional vets, supported by compassionate, well-trained nurses, are committed to delivering the highest standard of care to every pet we treat.
We pride ourselves on having modern, well-equipped facilities and a strong culture of continuing professional development, ensuring our team is always operating with the most current knowledge and techniques in veterinary medicine.

What you'll be studying
This is an undergraduate scholarship, you will be enrolled in the fourth year of a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be:
- New Zealand citizens or permanent residents and normally reside in New Zealand
- enrolled full time in the fourth year a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Massey University
Application checklist

- a copy of your Massey University transcripts and current enrolment. You can download your Study History Report from the Student Portal, under ‘Results and Exams’.
- a written statement on why you wish to pursue a career in companion animal
- your CV
- Two academic references
