Eligibility restrictions: Whakapapa Māori. Be between the ages of 17 - 30.

Eligibility criteria

Pūhoro and Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa encourages applications from tauira Māori studying science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or Mātauranga Māori (STEMM). Subjects include but are not limited to:

Health science
Food science
Hard sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, etc.)
Computer science
Mathematics
Veterinary science
Psychology
Accounting and finance
Aeroscience
Meteorology
Systems Engineering (Aviation)

Applications from tauira who are studying STEMM subjects not listed above are encouraged.

Successful recipients will be registered with Pūhoro's Te Urunga Pae programe, or be willing to register upon acceptance of scholarship.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an online interview to assist with the selection process.

Pūhoro participation conditions:

Attend Pūhoro Wānanga (1 per year) and Wānanga Pūrau (1 per year) events as a volunteer.
Submit academic grades at the end of each semester.
Partake in interviews, media stories, and communications regarding you and your study.
Attend a Scholarship Whakanui in Palmerston North, where you will share a short kōrero about your study and aspirations.
