The Roger Marshall Scholarship

The Roger Marshall Scholarship, proudly offered by Kelso Genetics, honours the legacy of company founder Roger Marshall—an innovator and pioneer in New Zealand sheep genetics.

Valued at $5,000 (GST incl) and awarded annually, this scholarship is designed to support the next generation of leaders in sheep and beef farming or agribusiness.

Roger was a visionary, and demonstrated extraordinary tenacity in his pursuit of excellence in sheep breeding. The core pillars that support Kelso Genetics today of ‘Listening, Thinking, and Innovating’ originate from Roger’s determination to lead, by offering superior genetics to help drive better performance in sheep farming. This scholarship reflects those same principles, aiming to foster future professionals who share Roger’s passion for farming and his drive to enhance the industry through innovation.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to full-time students enrolled in a New Zealand tertiary institution or land-based training organisation, the scholarship is available to those in the second-to-last or final year of their studies.

Applicants must be the son or daughter of a Kelso Genetics client (employees included) and demonstrate a strong passion for farming and agribusiness, a dedication to academic growth, and a forward-thinking mindset.
