Vets Central offer a 24-month New Grad Program in their clinics which is designed to support a new veterinary graduate in successfully transitioning from university to a professional career in general practice.
What you'll be studying
This is an undergraduate grant. You will be in the fifth and final year of your vet degree.
Eligibility criteria
We're looking for fifth-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science students who are interested in working in mixed animal practice and are willing to attend practice in a Vet Central clinic in Australia for clinical placement.
Application checklist
Include the following with your application:
- A copy of your resume outlining your study history, work experience and previous placements.
- A written statement of no more than 500 words outlining the following: Where do you see yourself as a veterinarian once you graduate; Are you interested in our Vet Grad Program (http://newgrads.vet) and if so, why; Are you interested in relocating to Australia upon graduation and if so where and why.
Selection considerations
When choosing our recipients, we will consider the following factors:
- Desire to relocate to Australia upon graduate (30%)
- Rationale for selecting a particular Vets Central practice (30%);
- Interest in Vets Central graduate program (20%);
- Demonstrated commitment to studies and academic merit (10%);
- Passion for veterinary science and career path (10%).
