The Prescott Campus is located on 539 acres of scenic western terrain, with campus life for over 2,000 students centred in a one-mile area that includes academic, residential, and recreational resources.

The athletics facilities area takes up the western part of campus and includes the fitness centre, gymnasiums, varsity soccer field and track, and recreation fields for both intercollegiate and intramural sports. Just north of these sits the outdoor swimming pool and courts for racquetball, tennis, and sand volleyball.

Credit system

Students should take 15 semester credits. This should equate to 60 Massey credits.

Courses

You can take courses from any of ERAU’s four colleges. They are Arts and Sciences, Security and Intelligence, Aviation, and Engineering.

Exchange students cannot take courses that involve flight components. You are welcome to take aviation courses that do not have a flight component.

ERAU’s language courses are available to you as well. They offer English, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, and occasionally Russian.

Course codes

Courses numbered 100-299 at ERAU equate to 100-level at Massey. 300-499 courses equate to 200 or 300-level courses at Massey.

Academic calendar

The Fall semester begins in August and ends in December. The Spring semester begins in January and ends in May.

Accommodation

ERAU offers a range of on-campus accommodation options. These include halls of residence, suites, and apartments.  International House is a themed living community for students interested in gaining a broader perspective and deeper understanding of multi-cultural world views.

Health insurance

Adequate health insurance is required by law for all exchange students going to the USA. Travel insurance alone will not provide the appropriate coverage. Health insurance plans in the USA are typically more expensive than plans in New Zealand.

You can purchase insurance through ERAU’s Student Health Insurance Plan.

Visas

You will need to have a J-1 exchange visitor visa to enter the U.S. You cannot study full-time at the university on either a B-2 tourist visa or the visa waiver program.
