The theme of the celebration is ‘100 Years of the University of New Zealand’, which honours our roots and affirms our national reach, modes of education delivery and deep connections with communities across Aotearoa.

These stories aim to highlight excellence, leadership, innovation and the lived experience of our community. The stories could be about people you’ve met, events you’ve attended, special places to you, building history, or important milestones related to Massey University.

Centenary events
A year of celebration is being planned across our campuses and communities with many ways to connect, celebrate and be part of Massey's centenary.
Upcoming planned events in 2027:
- Exhibitions on each campus beginning in February, showing our evolution over 100 years
- Community picnic in February
- Formal dinner to celebrate with our alumni, partners and supporters in May
- A community celebration of Matariki/Puanga
- Research and teaching showcase
- A student celebration of Massey’s 100-year journey in October
- Cocktail evening in November, celebrating with alumni, partners and supporters
- International partners celebrations in November
- End-of-year functions for Massey staff in December
