Thank you for contributing to our centenary celebrations.
If the University decides to share your story, it will be made publicly available. We therefore need to make sure that we have the rights to publish the information you provide. That means we need your consent to publish the story, and we will also need consent from any other people you include in your story (whether by name, other identifiable details, or in other materials such as photos).
The University will be relying on you to have the consent of all people that are identifiable or otherwise contribute to your story, such as if you provide a photo taken by someone else.
Stories are intended for use in connection with the centenary celebrations and will be used by the University in that context. We may also continue to use stories beyond the centenary celebrations in connection with providing general information about the University, and for promotional use. For example, the University may include a story on a page of our website detailing the history of the University, or in other materials. When submitting a story, please be aware that information you provide may be used beyond the centenary celebrations. If you do not want us to use the information you provide for any purpose other than the centenary celebrations, please let us know.
By submitting a story, and any other content including photos, videos, audio recordings, writing or other materials, you confirm that:
- you have consent from all people that may be identifiable, or that have rights to the information you provide, for the University to use and issue their information publicly as described in these terms
- we may edit, copy, add to, adapt or translate the information you provide
- we will generally publish stories acknowledging the contributors, however, you and all people that may have rights to the information you provide waive all moral rights to the story and other materials, including the rights under sections 94 and 98 of the Copyright Act 1994
- we will own any new rights that are created through the generation of the story. This does not mean we will own any existing material you provide to us, only any new rights that may be created. For example, if you provide us a photo, you or the existing owner of the photo will continue to own that photo.
We may follow up with you after you have submitted a story to gather further information for publication, such as any photos that may contribute to the story. If you provide additional information, these terms also apply to that information.
We will treat any personal information you provide to us in accordance with these terms and our privacy policy, which you can find here Privacy - Massey University.
Thank you again for your contribution to the centenary celebrations.
