English language entrance requirements for specific undergraduate programmes

Some specific programmes have a higher English proficiency than the minimum requirement, so please check that you meet the requirements for the programme you are interested in studying.

Exceptions to the minimum English language proficiency for specific programmes

6.5 overall (with no band less than 6.0)

TOEFL and PTE is acceptable

Bachelor of Aviation
(Air Transport Pilot)

6.5 overall (with no band less than 6.0)

Paper-based test (P) - minimum score of 575, TWE 4.5; or
internet-based test (iBT) - 90 (minimum writing 20)

Bachelor of Nursing

6.5 in every band

Only IELTS is acceptable (must have been sat in the past 3 months)

Bachelor of Social Work

6.5 in every band

Only IELTS is acceptable

Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy

7.0 in every band

Only IELTS is acceptable

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Group 2 - professional programme)

7.0 overall in all bands

Please note the English language entry requirements for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Group 1 - pre-selection semester) is the standard academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5), or its equivalent.

IELTS is preferred but other tests may be approved by the School of Veterinary Science.
