What and when will we be evaluating?

A team of evaluators from Massey University will survey selected schools for two weeks in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

During this time the evaluation team will evaluate the effect Healthy Active Learning has had on:
• School food policy, practices and food availability
• Students physical activity levels and motivation to be physically active
• Students engagement and connectedness in the classroom
• Whether it has altered teachers practices
• Whether whānau have noticed any changes in their tamariki

How will we be evaluating?

The evaluation team will be collecting data from a range of different people using multiple methods within the school setting.

Questionnaires will be collected during class time.
Physical Activity collected by a wrist watch over seven (7) days (some children only).

This watch is like a pedometer and does not track location via GPS or contain cameras.

Teachers and Principals

Questionnaires will be collected at the same time as the students where possible.
Focus groups will occur after school.
