The pregnancy supplement study explored dietary supplements taken by New Zealand women before, during and after pregnancy.

About the study

The aim of the pregnancy supplement study was to investigate dietary supplements taken by New Zealand women across three stages:

  • before getting pregnant
  • during the three trimesters of pregnancy
  • soon after giving birth.

The study has now ended.

Inclusion criteria

Participants in the study needed to:

  • be women aged 18+
  • live in New Zealand
  • be in the later stages of pregnancy or have given birth within the last three months
  • not have used assisted reproductive technologies (such as in-vitro fertilisation) to become pregnant
  • be proficient in English and able to complete the survey online.
