Te Rau Puawai scholarship applications

Te Rau Puawai applications for the 2020 academic year are now open.

The deadline for applications is Friday, 4 October 2019. Applications received after this date will not be considered.

Managing your application 

In order for your application to be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure your application is:

  1. downloaded and saved to your computer. This will help you to complete the form and send it on for assessment and review.
  2. typed. Handwritten applications will not be considered.
  3. completed in full prior to submission.
  4. a Word document only and emailed only to before 4 October 2019.
  5. your profile picture is attached to the second page of your application

Late applications or alternative document types, such as PDF, will not be considered.

Te Rau Puawai Provision and Obligations

The scholarship provides:

  • Contribution to cover course fees which are paid directly to Massey University
  • Contribution to cover course-related travel costs via submission of a reimbursement form
  • Provision of an Academic Mentor
  • Individual learning and personal support
  • Assistance with course planning
  • An essay writing and study skills workshop
  • Access to Maori Community and Student Networks

Scholarship recipients must endeavour to:

  • Complete the courses undertaken via Massey University
  • Attend classes, Contact Workshops and exams
  • Attend Te Rau Puawai conferences and seminars
  • Maintain regular contact with the Te Rau Puawai Support Team
  • Focus studies and employment in the area of Maori Mental Health
  • Advise Te Rau Puawai Staff and Lecturers immediately of challenges that may affect your study progress
