Off-campus library services , Te ratonga whare pukapuka o waho

Find out about library services you can use when you’re not on campus, including borrowing or requesting print or online material.

You can use a range of library services if you’re studying or working from off campus. If you are studying from overseas the library services you can access are slightly different.

When you’re physically on campus, you can use all the same library services as others who are on campus, even if you’re a distance student. See the campus library pages for more information.

If you’re a postgraduate student or researcher, you can also make an online appointment with a subject librarian or Māori services librarian.

Overseas library services

If you’re off campus and based outside New Zealand, you can still use the library.

You can search and browse the library’s collections using Discover.

You can also ask us to send you:

  • a scanned copy of a journal article we only have in print
  • scanned copies of book chapters and tables of contents
  • physical books (in some cases).

Journal articles and books

If you want to request a book, chapter, table of contents or journal article, log in and fill out the online request form.

Search Discover and use the Request button to request Massey library books.

Physical books

We can only send physical books if the item:

  • isn’t likely to be in high demand
  • won’t be at risk of damage or loss
  • will reach you in a reasonable postal delivery time.

You will need to pay for postage to return the book to us.

Using other libraries

You might also be able to access other libraries in the country where you’re based.

  • We can write a letter of introduction for you.
  • If you’re in Australia, you can borrow from other university libraries through the ULANZ scheme.
  • You might be able to access journal articles using our interlibrary loan service.
