You can use a range of library services if you’re studying or working from off campus. If you are studying from overseas the library services you can access are slightly different.
When you’re physically on campus, you can use all the same library services as others who are on campus, even if you’re a distance student. See the campus library pages for more information.

Current Massey students and staff can use all our online resources, including books, journal articles and reference material.
New Zealand off-campus library services
If you’re in New Zealand but off campus, you can:
- search and browse the library’s collections using Discover
- borrow or request print material and have it emailed or couriered to you
- borrow ebooks
- access full-text electronic journal articles
- request books and articles we don’t have at the library
- get help and support by emailing or calling us.

If you’re a postgraduate student or researcher, you can also make an online appointment with a subject librarian or Māori services librarian.
Overseas library services
If you’re off campus and based outside New Zealand, you can still use the library.
You can search and browse the library’s collections using Discover.
You can also ask us to send you:
- a scanned copy of a journal article we only have in print
- scanned copies of book chapters and tables of contents
- physical books (in some cases).
Journal articles and books
If you want to request a book, chapter, table of contents or journal article, log in and fill out the online request form.
Search Discover and use the Request button to request Massey library books.
Physical books
We can only send physical books if the item:
- isn’t likely to be in high demand
- won’t be at risk of damage or loss
- will reach you in a reasonable postal delivery time.
You will need to pay for postage to return the book to us.

Using other libraries
You might also be able to access other libraries in the country where you’re based.
- We can write a letter of introduction for you.
- If you’re in Australia, you can borrow from other university libraries through the ULANZ scheme.
- You might be able to access journal articles using our interlibrary loan service.
