Bicycles, scooters and motorcycles
Lock your bike, scooter and motorbike in dedicated parking spaces across the Wellington campus. Use showers and changing rooms after your ride.
Bicycles
Find bike racks on campus at the:
- south side of Block 10, Museum Building, Tokomaru
- south side of Block 1, College of Creative Arts
- north side of Block 5, Massey Business School
- Block 4, Entrance B (swipe card access required)
- Entrance A – covered cycle storage
- Building 2 – covered cycle storage
- Building 6 – covered cycle storage
- Building 11 – covered cycle storage.
If you ride a bike on campus, you must store it in one of the cycle racks provided. If you leave your bike leaning against a tree, building or handrail, we may be remove it. You are not allowed to ride bicycles on footpaths or other pedestrian areas.
Motorcycles and scooters
Find campus motorbike parking on the:
- west side of block 3, opposite the gym (Entrance C)
- west side of block 4 (between Entrances A and B)
- east side of the library, Hayward Terrace (Entrance E)
- south-eastern side of Block 10, Museum Building, Tokomaru (Entrance D).
Shower facilities
Shower facilities If you need to shower after cycling to campus, you can use the showers in these buildings. Showers and changing rooms are usually near toilets. They have the same opening hours as the buildings they're in.

Parking
Public parking restrictions on Wellington campus
Public parking is not allowed at any Massey car park between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Members of the public can park outside of these times and pay at a payment kiosk located at entrances A and D. You can also pay online.
Massey students and visitors can park in the following locations:
- Entrance A car park
- Entrance D car park
- King Street car park, lower level
Staff parking locations (Massey login required)
A limited number of reserved parking spaces are available for visitors, which can be booked through the Estates service desk.
Care Park New Zealand Limited monitors vehicle parking on the Wellington campus.
Digital parking permit
From Monday, 23 February 2026, everyone parking at the Wellington campus between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday must have a digital parking permit to park.

Staff and students
Massey staff and students apply for a digital permit using the online Parking Permit Application Portal. You will need your Massey student or staff ID when you register for the first time.
Once you apply, Care Park will review your application and email you when your permit is approved. Your vehicle will be registered to park once payment is confirmed.
You can pay for casual parking online or at an on-site payment kiosk. Parking payment kiosks are located at Entrance A and Entrance D.

You can park in any disability parking space if you have a valid mobility card. Payment is still required.
Contractors and visitors
Contractors and visitors
All contractors and visitors to campus must arrange a digital parking permit in advance from the Massey Estates Service Desk. You can arrange this directly with the service desk or through your Massey contact.
Parking penalties
You may get a payment notice if you:
- fail to obtain a valid digital parking permit
- fail to make a Valid Payment
- parked for longer than the payment period, and the payment expires
- are not parked in a marked bay.
If you are issued multiple notices for breaching the terms and conditions of the car park, your car may be clamped or towed. You may have to pay any outstanding payment notices and any fees for clamping or towage before you get your car back.

Buses and trains
Stroll to one of the bus stops right across the road from our Wellington campus. Hop on one of the many buses that run across the city and connect the suburbs. You can also take the ferry across the harbour or the cable car up to the Botanic Garden.
If you’re travelling to Wellington, use the network of commuter trains in the Wellington region. The bus station is next to Wellington train station.

Use the Metlink app for easy travel by bus and train in the Wellington region. With the app, you can check real-time information and get notifications for your favourite stops and transport services on your smartphone. Visit your app store to download the Metlink app.
Student travel concessions
Buy a Snapper to get cheaper bus and cable car fares. And if you’re a full-time student, you can get discounted peak-time travel with your Snapper. Get money off Metlink bus fares and cable car travel by:
- registering your Snapper on the Snapper portal
- downloading the tertiary concession on to your Snapper
- showing your student ID if the bus driver asks you when you tag on.
You can get cheaper train fares and ferry tickets if you’re a full-time student. Get a tertiary concession on train and ferry travel by:
- getting a Tertiary Concession sticker for your student ID from the Campus Information team in Student Central
- buying a tertiary 10-trip ticket at the ticket office
- showing your student ID when you buy your ticket.
Top up your Snapper on campus. Make sure you always have enough credit by using the Snapper top-up machine in Pyramid Block 5.
