Why study a foundation qualification

Foundation qualifications help you get ready to study at university. They are also called pathway qualifications, university preparation qualifications and pre-degree qualifications.

If you need to improve your academic requirements for admission to Massey, our pathway qualifications will give you the necessary skills for admission and successful study.

Foundation qualifications for international students

There are two foundation qualifications available at Massey.

Foundation Certificate (International)

Foundation Certificate (International Accelerated)

What foundation qualifications lead to

If you pass your foundation qualification, you:

  • get a foundation certificate
  • have met admission to study an undergraduate degree, certificate or diploma at Massey.

Some degrees have a selected entry process that you need to go through when you apply. Passing a foundation qualification does not guarantee that you will be able to study those degrees.
