Human ethics , Matatika tangata

The Human Ethics Committee makes sure that everyone working with human participants for research, teaching and evaluation purposes is acting ethically in the way they carry out work.

Using participants in research

Before making an application to the Massey University Human Ethics Committee (MUHEC), staff and students must read Code of Ethical Conduct for Research, Teaching & Evaluations Involving Human Participants. This outlines the expectations for using people as participants at Massey.

Learning and development

Learning and development opportunities to support research staff and students in building their understandings of the Ethics Code and Responsible Research Conduct are facilitated regularly.

Research supervisors, early career researchers, and postgraduate students, alongside experienced researchers, are encouraged to engage in online, blended and face to face workshops on ethics.

Registrations for these events are in MyHR for staff and on Stream for students.
