  • 1 Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of how iwi, Māori and Indigenous histories are constructed and the sources on which these histories are based.
  • 2 Analyse the broader significance of Indigenous histories in processes of decolonisation.
  • 3 Evaluate historical evidence on this subject critically across a variety of media: oral and aural, printed, visual and online and interpret specific primary sources in the context of wider knowledge.
  • 4 Appraise interpretations of the relationship between iwi histories and the major historical approaches to Indigenous history.
  • 5 Articulate historical perspectives and present historical arguments in spoken, written and digital forms, demonstrating historiographical awareness and technical skills in the use of referencing primary and secondary sources.
