Networking for Gold: A multi-level analysis to explain network effectiveness
Read article at Massey Research Online:
Mr Martin examined how a government created network consisting of individual organisations can be effectively managed. He found that this was possible through effective coordination by a central organisation responsible for managing the network. A key finding was that multiple levels within each organisation need to be engaged in network tasks. The findings from Mr Martin’s research are important for countries such as New Zealand as they show how networks provide smaller firms, and in this case the nation, with the ability to successfully compete in a global market place against much larger firms and nations with larger economies.
