Renewable energy supplies, efficient and wise use of energy and energy management are now widely recognised to mitigate for greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels, to reduce the annual costs of energy for a business or government department, and to provide sustainable energy solutions for people who want good health, comfort, entertainment, mobility and to maintain or enhance their present lifestyles. The aim of the Centre is to provide these solutions by conducting a wide range of research projects, often linked with industry and local or national government as well as to provide a range of courses and papers on energy.
The Centre was established at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand in 1997 following over 25 years of teaching and research work undertaken in the areas of Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Energy Management.
