At the Massey University Equestrian Centre there is an all-weather arena (80m x 60m) with jumps, 15 hectares of land divided into 40 paddocks, yards and lockable storage sheds. The arena is available for use by Massey University students and staff, and the community. It is 80 metres x 60 metres and has a 75mm deep surface of 50:50 lime/crusher dust mix. There are up to 20 pairs of jump stands, 60 (4.2 metre) poles and four jump fillers (80cm picket, 80cm ply picket, two liverpools) available to use.
Your grazing fee entitles you to a paddock, access to yards with wash down area and two lockable tack areas, satellite station with lockable storage shed for feed and/or gear and four open yards and access to the arena and jumps. Access to farm lanes for hacking must be applied for and forms returned to the Ag Services department.
Cost of grazing is $680 per semester, per paddock. Consideration will be given to those wishing to bring more than one horse. Extra horses will incur an additional fee of $150.00 per horse if grazed in the same paddock. This must be made in writing to the Equestrian Centre Manager.
There are stable blocks for hire at the Massey Equestrian Centre. Cost of stable hire is over and above the cost of grazing fees. For more information contact us by email.
