Study facilities

On the Auckland campus in Albany, we have a range of facilities to help you with your studies. Most of the study facilities are on the East Precinct site.

Auckland Library

Our large collection of print and online resources covers all subjects taught at the Auckland campus. Ask our helpful specialist staff if you have any questions. Find study spaces as well as computers, printing and photocopying facilities. There are accessible facilities for disabled students. You can also book the mini-theatre or family room.

Centre for Learner Success

Come to us for academic help and study support at all levels of study, including postgraduate. We offer workshops, classes and personal consultations in writing and study skills.

Computers and wifi

Visit the Library to use student computers, where the support staff can help you.

You can use computers in the computer labs when they’re not being used for teaching. Computer labs may be open only to undergraduate or postgraduate students.

Wifi

Whichever campus you’re on, you can log into MasseyWiFi with your student ID and password. Once logged in, you can use the internet and Massey network.

If you’re a guest or visitor to Massey, you can use the MUGuests wifi. This open, public network has a data limit of 600MB a day.

Pacific fale

There are two dedicated Pacific spaces on the Auckland campus – Fale Manaaki, where you can meet, relax, or study, and Pacific Ako Corner in the library.

The Printery

Although printing and binding services are not available on the Auckland campus a wide variety of production options can be accessed through The Printery on the Manawatu campus in Palmerston North.

Campus Books

Visit the bookshop to buy course textbooks, legislation and stationery, online or in-store. Campus Books is independent of the university. We also buy and sell current second-hand textbooks.

At the Auckland campus in Albany, we have heaps of facilities to help you make the most of our time as a student. Most of the student life facilities are on the East Precinct site but the Massey Child Care Centre is at Ōtehā Rohe.

Te Tira Ahu Pae is your students’ association during your study at Massey. You’ll find them in Student Central on Level 2. They provide student representation, advocacy, clubs, events and Massive magazine.

Te Tira Ahu Pae is your students’ association during your study at Massey. Relax or study in the student lounge, which includes a pool table, foosball table, piano and recycled book swap. Bring your own cup for a free hot drink at our Wellbeing Café.

Chaplaincy service Minita Whakapono

Chaplains support students to make sense of life and learning, and promote wellbeing. We hold regular events and can put you in touch with different faith communities. A multi faith prayer space is located behind the Sport and Recreation Centre.

Sport and recreation centre

Use our two fully equipped health and fitness studios and gyms, multi-use sports hall and physiotherapy clinic. You can also hire facilities at the state-of-the-art indoor Massey University Cricket Centre. Relax at the Scholars Cafe, which is open to all. Membership of the Massey University Recreation Centre Auckland is open to students, staff and the local community, including senior citizens.

Childcare and breastfeeding

Our highly qualified and experienced team at Massey Child Care Centre offers day care for children from birth to six years old. We’re a not-for-profit organisation working in a newly built early childhood centre.

You can breastfeed your baby in room 2.03 in the Library. The room is open only during library opening hours.

Trading room

Get real-life fund management experience in the country's first university-based trading room. The state-of-the-art facility contains Bloomberg financial terminals, a live stock price ticker and information and news screens.

Health care in emergencies

Find emergency health care facilities on campus.

There are sick bays with first aid kits in:

  • Library, level 2, room 4 – key at Lending desk on level 2
  • Quadrangle Building B, level 2, room 25 – key at School of Management reception in room 2.47
  • Massey Business School, level 1, room 35 – key at reception on level 2
  • Recreation Centre, room 2.19 – unlocked but ask staff for help.

Find automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on campus in the:

  • Library
  • Recreation Centre
  • Student Central, ground floor, in Health and Counselling
  • Quadrangle A, ground level, in Campus Information Services, on the kitchen wall
  • Massey Business School, level 2, reception
  • Atrium Building, Facilities Services, loading dock wall.

For non-emergency health care, you can enrol with your campus health centre or speak to them if you want to see them casually.

Tour Auckland Campus

Start your journey with a tour of the Massey Auckland campus.

Guided Campus Walking Tours

Massey staff will take you on a one-hour tour around some of the key parts of the Auckland campus.

After the tour, you’ll meet with a Future Students team member who can answer your questions about courses, entry requirements and the Massey student experience.

Register for a free walking tour led by Massey staff

The guided walking tour visits only selected areas and facilities on campus and can cover rough ground and stairs. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Groups of 10 or more should contact the Future Students team directly. All future students, their families, alumni and the wider community are welcome.
