Food safety course
The focus of this course is microbiological safety although chemical and foreign matter aspects are included. It is designed for food manufacturers although those from other sectors of the food industry may find the course useful. This two-day course can be run on demand.
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point course
This two-day course covers the theory and practice of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures to provide confidence in food manufacture. Run on demand.
Low Acid Canned Food Thermal Processing Systems course (LACF)
This course covers relevant food microbiology principles, the design and control of a range of thermal processing systems, the principles of food plant sanitation, record keeping, and the design and handling of food containers for thermal processing. Passing this course allows you to supervise thermal processes for low-acid food.
Noise assessment refresher course
We offer on-demand occupational and environmental noise assessment refresher courses for industry bodies or businesses.
We examine the effect environmental, occupational, and recreational settings as well as community and learning spaces have on human health.

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (UK)
IOSH (UK) is the largest OSH practitioner professional association outside the United States. Our Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is the only NZ tertiary qualification accredited by IOSH (UK). Students who complete this qualification will meet the academic requirement for Graduate Membership to IOSH(UK). Membership then leads to registration as an OHS practitioner.
Environmental health indicators
The Environmental Health Indicators New Zealand team monitor New Zealand’s environmental health through a set of environmental health indicators including air quality, drinking water, recreational water, indoor environment, UV exposure, hazardous substances, border health, climate change, and transport.
Micro Aqua Tech
Part of Massey University's Hopkirk Institute, the Micro Aqua Tech service provides expert services in the water-borne diseases giardia and cryptosporidium. This includes investigating the enumeration and viability of Giardia & Cryptosporidium in water, shellfish or sewage. We can also evaluate novel anti-giardia/cryptosporidium products and carry out survey work.

The Environmental Health Indicators New Zealand (EHINZ) team provide technical and analytical consultancy services across all areas of public health. We also produce a range of information products that provide robust evidence for policy development and decision-making.
