To become a registered psychologist, you can choose one of four supervised practice routes at Massey:
To proceed from a Bachelor of Arts to either the Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial/Organisational Psychology or the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Practice, you will need to complete either a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts, then a Master of Arts by thesis only (120 credits). This is to meet the New Zealand Psychologists' Board requirements for coursework and research. Note that the 180-credit Master of Arts will not meet these requirements.
To proceed from a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Health Science, you will need to complete a relevant 240-credit Masters degree.
For information on how to proceed to the Master of Clinical Psychology or the Doctor of Clinical Psychology, please follow the links above.
