Adult Assessment Package

The Centre for Psychology offers a tailor-made psychological assessment package for adults.

What kind of assessments do we do?

Assessment depends on the type of difficulties that seem problematic. It might include assessment of aspects of cognitive functioning that may be problematic (including neuropsychological concerns) and an understanding of the impact of any emotional worries.

What is the assessment process?

The assessment usually involves first talking with the person about the difficulties as they see them.  We invite them to bring any relevant documentation and usually ask their permission to talk to other people (e.g., doctor, partner) who they feel will be able to provide more information about what has been happening.

Each test we use is carefully selected and depends on the issues that have been identified, so these typically vary from individual to individual.

At the end of the assessment, there will be a feedback meeting where we talk with the client about the outcomes of the assessment and our recommendations. It is important to us that you understand what the outcomes mean and what action routes are open to you.

Time and costs

A standard comprehensive assessment usually involves approximately 5-9 hours of contact time:

  • Initial assessment interviews (1-2 hours)
  • Testing (3-5 hours)
