Nō hea te manawa e kakapa nei? Nō te urunga mai o te rā, nō te papatipu o Horouta Wānanga, nō te whenua i taunahatia ai e Porourangi.
Nā wai te manawa e kakapa nei? Nā te kōhanga reo, nā te kura kaupapa Māori, nā te wharekura.
Hai aha te manawa e kakapa nei? Hai whakarauora i te reo Māori, hai whakahaumanu i ngā tikanga Māori, otirā hai whakawhanake i te pito mata kei roto i ngā ākonga.
I am a descendant of Porourangi and hail from Tokomaru Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand. However, Palmerston North is my second home where I was raised at the Kohanga Reo, Kura Kaupapa and Wharekura o Mana Tamariki. After school I pursued my dream of being a professional Rugby League player and was very fortunate to live and play professionally in Australia, Ireland and England. Whilst on my sporting journey I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Māori Studies) via distance learning through Massey University.
I started at Massey working as a Māori Student Support Coordinator (Te Rau Tauawhi) and I am now the Senior Māori Advisor for the Auckland Campus. I am currently working towards my Masters (Māori Studies). I am passionate about our Māori people and as a product of Te Aho Matua I have a responsibility to give back to our people and look forward to meeting and working with Māori students to assist in their journey and ensuring they reach their potential in their chosen field.
