StudyUp online workshops
StudyUp is a series of online workshops run by the Centre for Learner Success that help improve writing and study skills. The sessions cover:
- essay writing
- paragraph writing
- time management
- academic integrity and plagiarism
- critical analysis
- referencing
- other study-related topics.
StudyUp sessions are broadcast live on Zoom and available to all Massey students. You’ll need your Student ID number to book.

StudyUp: Postgraduate covers the specialist knowledge you need to study at master's or doctorate level. Workshops include:
- how to write a research proposal
- how to write a literature review
- effective oral presentations.
You don’t have to be a postgraduate student to attend these sessions.

PhD Writing Skills Workshops
This workshop series is specially designed to support doctoral students to develop their writing skills.
The workshops are delivered by Learning Advisors from the Centre for Learner Success, who are experienced in supporting doctoral students through every stage of the writing process. Massey librarians also deliver a session that covers how to create and structure long documents, and tips on using Endnote. Workshops include:
- Writing your confirmation report
- Presenting your PhD research
- Improving your PhD thesis writing style
- Editing your PhD thesis.
