Massey University's Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) offers a range of pathway and professional development programmes to help you reach your education goals. These programmes include pre-degree English language, academic and subject knowledge programmes, innovative professional development short courses and international study tours to meet your learning objectives.

University preparation programmes
If you need to improve your academic requirements for admission to Massey, our pathway programmes will give you the necessary skills for admission and successful study.
Our pathway programmes are designed by world-class teaching and academic staff to help students move easily into their chosen degree programme. Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) at Massey University provides students with flexible options to meet their individual study needs.
If you need to improve your English language skills in order to meet requirements for admission to Massey, our English language pathway programmes will give you the necessary skills for admission and successful study. All classes are tailored to students English language level with content related to the programme of study they wish to pursue. The focus is on the key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
PaCE works with leading providers of international and occupational English language testing to provide you with the English language skills you need to succeed in your studies and careers. This includes the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and the Occupational English Test (OET).
Massey University has an established reputation for designing and delivering short courses and study tours. The University can customise content, delivery, location and outcomes for a sponsoring organisation to meet the needs of participants. Massey also delivers recognised professional development short courses in various fields of expertise.

If you have a university or high school group looking for an overseas experience, Massey also has extensive experience in organising study tours in New Zealand. These can include academic studies combined with English language, project work, field trips, cultural or sporting activities and a New Zealand homestay experience. Your students will study in classes especially designed for their requirements.

Homestay accommodation is when a student lives with a local family in the family’s home. It gives international students the opportunity to practise English and learn about New Zealand culture in a safe and supportive environment. PaCE can help coordinate your homestay with a New Zealand family.

English Language and University Discovery short course
PaCE partners with IDP Education Ltd to deliver the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The test is designed to help you achieve the score you need to succeed in your immigration application, professional registration or for university entrance.
PaCE partners with Nguyen Sieu School in Vietnam to deliver foundation pathways. Students who successfully complete the pathways have direct entry into Massey University’s Certificate in Foundation Studies or Certificate of University Preparation.
PaCE partners with University of Cambridge and Box Hill Institute of Australia to deliver the Occupational English Test (OET). The test is a well-respected international English language test for the healthcare sector.
PaCE partners with Pearson to deliver the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE). The test is trusted by universities, colleges and governments around the world.
PaCE partners with Sichuan University and Massey's Executive Education to deliver a study tour for managers from Chengdu enrolled on Sichuan University’s MBA programme. The tour includes lectures and seminars delivered by Massey University professors and visits to New Zealand companies.
PaCE partners with Suzhou Industrial Park No.2 Senior High School to offer academic English and foundation pathway programmes to students in Suzhou, China. Students who successfully complete these programmes in Suzhou have direct entry into Massey University’s Certificate in Foundation Studies.
PaCE partners with the Tokyo Board of Education in Japan and Massey's Tātai Angitu to deliver a ten week professional development programme to Junior and Senior High School Teachers from Japan. The programme focuses on TESOL Pedagogy, English for teachers, Education lectures, practice lessons, school visits and education field trips.
The head office of the Centre is based on Massey University's Manawatū campus, near the city of Palmerston North. However we have staff and training available on all Massey University's campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington.
