Accommodation office contactsRotary and Kairanga Courts offer returning residents and senior students a change to share 4 bedroom apartment-style pods with fellow students. Each of these courts contains 15 pods and is set on campus, near the bus stop to the city.
Overview
- Fully furnished, single rooms within four-bedroom apartments for returning residents.
- Shared bathrooms, lounge and kitchen. Access to common room with kitchen, shared laundry and computer lab shared with other halls.
- Self-catered.
- Fully independent living, you and your housemates will be responsible for cleaning your flat
- Wifi in all rooms and common areas, and communal computer lab.
- Close to all student facilities including lecture theatres, the library and the Colombo Road public bus stop to Palmerston North.
- Among a community of other halls of residence.
Rooms and furniture
All bedrooms in Rotary and Kairanga Courts are fully-furnished single private rooms. Each has a window that can be opened, and a secure lockable door.
Each room includes:
- a single bed and mattress
- wardrobe
- drawers
- desk, lamp and chair
- shelves, mirror and rubbish bin
- carpet and curtains
- heater.
Items you should bring
Along with clothing and personal items, you should also bring:
- toiletries and toiletry bag
- your own bedding and towel (international students will receive a room pack with bedding, towels and a few utensils which is included in the deposit for international students only).
- coat hangers
- laundry detergent
- 3M hooks/tape or white tac, if you wish to hang anything on your wall (no tape, nails, screws or blu tac allowed).
You may also choose to bring a small fridge for your room, no larger than 45L, which must be put on a waterproof mat.
Bathrooms
Kairanga and Rotary Court four-bedroom apartments each have a shared bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.
Self-catering
Kairanga and Rotary Courts are self-catered. Students can store food and prepare their meals in the shared apartment kitchen or the large communal kitchen.
There are a range of supermarkets in Palmerston North for students to purchase food from.
Communal spaces and shared facilities
Kairanga and Rotary Courts share a spacious common lounge and kitchen with other residents from surrounding halls. The kitchen has ovens, stoves, microwaves, fridge/freezers, sinks, toasters, hot water dispensers, lockers and a dining table with chairs. The common lounge has a TV.
A communal laundry is accessible 27/7 and has washing machines and dryers. The laundry is free of charge to use. Students supply their own detergent.
Alcohol
Students are allowed to store some forms of alcohol in the Courts and drink it in moderation within designated areas on set days and times.

All students can pay by semester or full year. Domestic students are also able to pay by direct debit on a weekly basis.
Deposit
To secure your accommodation, you will need to pay a deposit by the date stated in your letter of offer.

Withdrawals must be received by 23 January 2023 to secure a refund of fees – the processing fee is non-refundable.
