Dr Marion Lara Tan is a lecturer at Massey University's Joint Centre for Disaster Research. With a PhD in Emergency Management from Massey University (2020), she specializes in the intersection of human behaviour and technology in disaster contexts. Her research focuses on enhancing resilience through participatory approaches and the use of disruptive technologies in early warning systems. She has published extensively in these areas, contributes to international research communities, and leads several initiatives, including the Citizen Science arm of the WMO-WWRP High Impact Weather Project.
