Dr Julia Becker PhD, MSc

Senior Lecturer

School of Psychology

Julia Becker is a Senior Lecturer at the Joint Centre for Disaster Research in the School of Psychology at Massey University.  She undertakes social science research on a range natural hazard and environmental issues.  Her areas of expertise include perceptions, preparedness, community resilience, emergency management and warnings.  She has worked extensively in New Zealand on recent events (e.g. Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquakes) and internationally (e.g. U.S, Australia, Japan).
