S-Map Online

This database has consistent and comprehensive national soil data layers to support applications at local & regional-national scales.  There is only limited geographical cover at present. Where coverage is available you are able to access soil type data and link to a PDF comprehensive explanation of the soil type (drainage, soil moisture and depth to hard soil data). There is also a range of scales to choose from so it is possible to get to a very fine level of detail.
