Associate Professor Claire Matthews

Head of School, School of Accountancy, Economics and Finance

Claire became Acting Head for the School of Accountancy in 2024, having been Associate Dean Academic Quality since 2014 after teaching banking and financial advice. A recognised expert on banking and personal finance, her research interests are consumers’ financial behaviour, decisions and attitudes, with a focus on payments, financial capability, retirement planning and KiwiSaver.

Jo's academic background is in human resource management, tourism and entrepreneurship. She maintains research interests in entrepreneurship and innovation, agribusiness and family business, along with women and work.

Professor Matt Roskruge

Professor Matt Roskruge

Associate Dean – Māori

Matthew Roskruge (Te Atiawa, Ngāti Tama) is a Rutherford Discovery Fellow, Director of Te Au Rangahau, Associate Dean Māori and Professor in the School of Economics and Finance.

He has an academic background in health and population economics, and researches as an applied economist and social scientist.

Professor Liping Zou

Professor Liping Zou

Vice Dean of Massey Institute at NUFE (MIAN)

Liping is the Vice Dean of Massey Institute at NUFE (MIAN) and a Professor in Finance at the School of Economics and Finance. Liping has an academic background and qualification in accountancy, computer science, and finance. Her research focuses on corporate finance, portfolio management and strategy, corporate governance, and machine learning in finance.

Jeff has transitioned through both business and academia. Before joining Massey in 2004, his 25-year business career primarily involved launching innovative startups, giving him extensive experience in business development and financial management. Jeff holds degrees in Economics, an MBA, a PhD in investments, and is a CFA.

Rebecca’s extensive tertiary sector management experience spans nearly 20 years across business schools in both New Zealand and Australia. She has previously held Research Manager and Client Service Manager positions prior to commencing as College Executive Manager in 2024.

Associate Dean, Research

Dr David Brougham is an Associate Professor at Massey Business School. David is researching how employees and businesses plan to adapt to changes as a result of technological disruption from AI, automation, robotics, etc. David is the Editor for the New Zealand Journal of Human Resources Management.
