Insects evoke many different reactions from people and yet they are essential for our life on earth. Ms Grant researched written material, published primarily around the time of colonisation, which recorded the variety of ways in which Maori responded to insects. This information was then artistically interpreted as a unique series of painted bronze sculptures that showcased both the Maori and European response to insects. Ms Grant called this blend of entomology, culture and art, - ento-articulture.
