Dr Jasmine Fang

Senior Lecturer

Jasmine’s work focuses on financial planning education and applied finance research. As Director of Financial Planning Programmes, she has overseen Massey’s Level 5 and Level 7 financial planning and advice qualifications, ensuring alignment with New Zealand’s regulatory requirements and the global Certified Financial Planner education standards. 

Jasmine has published widely in leading academic journals in asset pricing, behavioural finance, and household finance. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Portfolio Management, and Regional Studies, and has been cited by the Financial Times, the CFA Institute, the LSE Business Review, and the European Central Bank. She has supervised multiple doctoral students to completion and continues to support several ongoing supervisions, and she also regularly supervises master’s students.

Jasmine is a Certified Financial Planner (Academic, non-practising). She has served as a board member and later as Vice President International for the Academy of Financial Services. She currently serves as Associate Editor for Financial Services Review, and has been appointed to the Financial Planning Standards Board Professional Standards Committee, which oversees global competency and ethical standards for CFP certification.

Jasmine is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Massey University. She teaches financial planning, investments, and banking at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her research spans asset pricing, behavioural finance, and household finance. Jasmine holds a PhD in Finance and brings prior industry experience in accounting and corporate banking. Jasmine is also a Certified Financial Planner (Academic, non-practising) and serves as Director of Financial Planning Programmes.
