Miss Rosanowski developed a model to evaluate the effectiveness of movement restriction and vaccination for the control of equine influenza in the New Zealand horse population. To achieve this, a series of epidemiological investigations were carried out to describe movement behaviour and biosecurity practices. Miss Rosanowski identified that vaccination and the restriction of horse movement reduced the size and length of an equine influenza outbreak. Her research provides a valuable resource for the development of models for infectious disease control and future research into the New Zealand equine population
