Chinese practitioners have started to adapt social partnerships to deliver highly regarded corporate social responsibilities. This has occurred under the influence of a globalised trading environment and the underlining Confucianism influence (the system of ethics, education, statesmanship stressing love for humanity, ancestor worship, reverence for parents, and harmony in thought and conduct). Mr Dong examined six businesses from mainland China and their social partnership arrangements, under the lenses of corporate social responsibility theory. His research findings identified prior formation expectation, resource utilisation, and achievement assessment mechanism as the three key performance attributes that impact social partnership conduct in the Chinese business context. In addition, he progressed the corporate social responsibility theory development, and provided new insights for social partnership development in China.
