Master of Management (Communication Management)
Toni Liu started as Human Relations and Administration Manager, GMP Dairy Ltd, in January 2016. This significant role followed on from her time as Assistant Human Resources and Administration Manager, Human Resources and Public Relations Officer and Marketing Coordinator, also at GMP Dairy Ltd.
Toni received outstanding recognition from her company by being awarded Most Promising Newcomer from GMP Dairy Ltd in December 2014. This award recognises individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding performance in their first year of employment at GMP. Before being employed at GMP, Toni obtained excellent professional work experience in the role of Travel Claims Consultant at Crombie Lockwood in Wellington during 2012 – April 2014. Toni also sharpened her skills as Marketing and Administration Assistant with NAC Trading Ltd during late 2011 and early 2012. While studying for her Master of Management in Communication Management, at Massey University Wellington, Toni served as International Liaison Officer for a period of time. At Massey Toni demonstrated her hard work and enthusiasm during her degree studies.
Toni’s strong commitment to service was very evident during the period of her Massey studies such as via her serving as the Vice President of the Chinese Students’ Association at Wellington and also serving as a Uni-Guide for new students on campus. She won a “Top Student” award on the grounds of academic excellence.
Her further study included Certifications from St John’s Ambulance for First Aid and a Chinese Language Teacher Training Certificate from the Confucius Institute at Victoria University. Toni has also demonstrated a further commitment to service in her role as Executive Deputy Chairperson of Young Business Women in NZ Incorporated. Toni took full advantage of all opportunities for community involvement during and after her postgraduate studies at Massey with her volunteer experience including Consultant for the Citizens Advice Bureau, Sales Representative for NZ Red Cross, serving as a counsellor for the Samaritans, being a receptionist at Well Health, and serving as a Chinese Language Tutor for the NZ China Friendship Society.
While studying for her bachelor’s degree in English Education back home in Northeast Normal University in Changchun, Jilin Province, in the PRC, Toni served as a Class Representative, a Class Monitor and was Vice President of the Student Union.
Toni says that “I indeed believe my study and experience with Massey and the help from all of you have enabled me to grow myself as a person and start my professional career. I'm very grateful.”
