A key focus of the honours programme is the requirement to do supervised research in Hispanic literary and cultural studies. This is your opportunity to express your intellectual independence through a research report on a topic that has captured your attention throughout your studies. You’ll also develop your Spanish language skills, and advance your ability to develop critical arguments in Spanish. For part-time students we recommend you start with 245.700 Advanced Spanish Communication.
Massey’s Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Spanish is offered in distance mode, allowing you to fit your studies around your life. Your research report will be individually supervised by one of our award-winning teachers and researchers, who will give you support and guidance every step of the way.
Spanish is one of the most popular languages in the world, based on the number of people with Spanish as their first language. International demand for Spanish speakers is growing, with graduates working in areas such as international business and customer relations. There’s also a significant demand for Spanish teachers and academics.
